As a passionate enthusiast of luxury hotels such as The Biltmore in Phoenix, DPNY in Ilhabela, the Hyatt Regency in Tokyo (yes, the one from the movie), and many others, I always dreamt of owning one myself, but never thought it would be possible. My dream came true when we stumbled upon our private hotel in Vichy, completely by chance.
Due to its history, beauty, and convenient location, we decided to develop it to offer very comfortable and sophisticated accommodation year-round. After two years of renovation and the warm support of artisans and decorators, we are now open. We offer five suites and a gîte, perfect for families or groups of friends, that reflect the different countries where we have lived: the United States, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, and France.
The Prêtre Family House
Hotel d'Espagne (Thiollier family), and later Dr. Bignon
Dr. Therre’s property was completely renovated to become one of the most beautiful private hotels in Vichy. The transformation was carried out by architect Antoine Percilly, with the façade renovated in 1910 and the interior elements in 1923/1926. The decoration is primarily in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles (including stained glass by Francis Chigot), although it is inspired by the 18th century with wood panelling and mouldings.
The house served as a field hospital.
We acquired the house.
